Megan Sweeney

Meet Megan Sweeney, the office manager for SERVPRO of Rockville/Silver Spring North and SERVPRO of Laurel and Greenbelt NE/Beltsville E. Though Megan doesn't mind being known as an office clown because she loves to laugh and make jokes, she is a studious and voracious learner who loves to research, take instructional courses, and read and watch documentaries.

IICRC WRT/AMRT certified, Megan has been with SERVPRO for six years. She runs a tight ship as the office manager, but loves when opportunities arise to assist on-site with commercial large losses, or to use her communication and sales skills at the company's marketing events.

Born and raised in Montgomery County, MD, Megan attended The Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, and the University of Maryland as a College Park Scholar. Sports have always been a huge part of Megan’s life, especially basketball, field hockey and soccer. For the past 20 years, she has volunteered with various Special Olympics Maryland – Montgomery County (SOMO) Young Athletes Programs, mostly with TOPSoccer, a youth soccer program jointly run by SOMO & MSI Soccer.

Some of her favorite things: Monster Energy drinks, doughnuts with white icing & sprinkles, archaeology, anthropology, history, politics, animals, fashion, art & design, and shopping for others...

Alex Chavarria

There's never a dull moment for Alex Chavarria at SERVPRO of Rockville-Olney/Silver Spring North and SERVPRO of Laurel and Greenbelt NE/Beltsville E. Formerly our production manager and presently our mitigation director for the four franchises, his work days are unpredictable and oftentimes, very intense and stressful.

"It's very hard to get bored," Alex says of his job of 11+ years now. He is certified in IICRC WRT/ASD/CDS/HST/FSRT/OCT and AMRT, and a member of the American BioRecovery Association.

Alex takes pride in his work, and wants every customer to know that each cleanup & restoration project is a team effort. "The client and us are on the same team and everyone has a role to play." He recently led our Storm Team in responding to the massive cleanup & restoration efforts in Texas in February-March 2021, helping to restore dozens of storm-damaged homes and businesses in the Dallas area.

A resident of Frederick since 2003, Alex enjoys spending time in Downtown Frederick and volunteering at soup kitchens. He has great interest in government and hopes to run for public office one day.

"I would like to serve in city government, Frederick board of aldermen and maybe mayor eventually," he says. "I think many national and global issues can be resolved at a local level, one community at a time rather than on a big scale -- one person in one town making a small difference happening all over the place kinda thing. I don’t want to just complain about stuff in my community if I’m not willing to at least try to make it better."
